Healing Your Family Lineage: Freedom or Burden?

Are you still waiting for validation from your parents or your family?

Many people are. Yet this is a form of codependency that is rarely spoken about. Most people associate codependency only with romantic relationships, but it begins much earlier than that.

Codependency is the tendency to derive our sense of worth, identity, emotional safety, or belonging from the approval, emotions, or needs of others. It often develops in childhood, when we unconsciously learn that love, acceptance, or safety are conditional.

Many of us grew up carrying invisible emotional burdens:

feeling responsible for our parents’ happiness,

their suffering,

their emotions,

their healing.
